Industry: Automotive | System Installed: 40kW Longi Solar Panels + Sungrow Inverter
What was your experience with Think Renewable like?
Honestly, it was super straightforward. Think Renewable got in touch, talked me through the options, and put a plan together that made sense for the business. We’d been thinking about solar for a while, mainly because of the rising energy bills. But once I saw how easy Think Renewable made it and how fast the return would be, it was a no-brainer. They also genuinely cared about getting the best result for my setup.
They were great to deal with. Kept me in the loop and handled everything from the designing the system to installing it. They even worked on a weekend to get it hooked up so we didn’t have to shut down. It was all very smooth.
Can you tell us about your business’ energy bills before and after switching to solar with Think Renewable?
Before solar, our energy bills were over $6,000 a quarter. Now they’re sitting at around $3,000. That’s halved just from switching to solar during the day. Straight away, those savings have helped take the pressure off cash flow, and we’ve been able to reinvest in other areas like equipment upgrades, more manpower, things like that. And knowing those savings are only going to grow over time is a great feeling.
It’s one of the best business decisions we’ve made.
What products did you purchase from Think Renewable?
We went with a 40kW solar system comprising Longi panels and a Sungrow inverter. The challenge was that our building faces the wrong way, but they installed the panels on tilts so we still get the best results. The system runs everything in the workshop without any issues.
Did you choose the financing option? How do the savings compare to the upfront cost?
We paid for the system outright, so there was an upfront investment, but with how it’s performing, it’ll pay for itself in a few years. After that, it’s basically free money. It’s estimated to save us tens of thousands over the next 10 years.
What do you think your next renewable energy purchase will be?
A solar battery is next on the list. And I’ve got four more sites I’d like to get panels on. When the time comes, I’ll be calling Think Renewable again.
Ben’s advice for other business owners:
If your business uses most of its power during the day like ours, I’d absolutely recommend Think Renewable. They made the switch easy, and the savings speak for themselves.
